Jamie-Lee Venable

Affiliate Assembly Liaison, Executive Committee Vice President, United Way of Genesee County

Jamie-Lee Venable has been with the United Way since 2013. As the vice president, Jamie-Lee oversees all program and development, including its volunteer center Genesee Serves. In her role, she serves on multiple committees and task forces focused on creating a thriving, safe, equitable community. Jamie-Lee came to the United Way of Genesee County after serving as officer and manager of RBS Citizens and Charter One Bank Michigan Foundation. She began her diverse career in philanthropy in Flint convening groups and service providers to address community issues. In 2009, Venable became the manager of Capacity Building for the Michigan Nonprofit Association. There, she educated the public at local, state and national levels, on the necessity of sound management practices. Tasked with implementing two federally funded nonprofit capacity building initiatives, she led a network of like-minded organizations creating a cohesive plan for statewide capacity building tactics.  Raised in Flint and a life-long resident of Genesee County, Jamie-Lee received a Master’s in Public Administration with an emphasis in nonprofit groups from the University of Michigan, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Sociology.
